The Steel Magnolia Story
Owner and artist, Amber Thomas started making jewelry in her home for friends and family several years ago. As she experimented with new techniques and applications, she discovered her love for metalworking and enameling. This opened up new avenues for displaying and selling her one-of-a-kind pieces of “wearable art.”
Steel Magnolia Handcrafted Jewelry is unique, imaginative, handcrafted artisan jewelry made with simple tools and reinvents scrap copper and brass into beautiful pieces of art. These on-of-a-kind pieces are made using various techniques including hammering, forging, torch-firing with powder enamel, flame painting, embossing, hand-painting and polishing.
Amber is originally from Mississippi and now resides in Porter, Texas. Her husband and three children often help out with packaging, assembling and marketing as well as assisting with art shows.
