1000 Cranes Craft and Art

I create folded book and paper art.  I started folding 1000 origami cranes in 2019 as an exercise in gratitude and kept folding anything that didn’t move (fortunately, the dog woke up).  I work mostly with up-cycled and repurposed paper products — old books in particular, but also brown paper lunch bags, the pink backing of feminine sanitary pads, tea bags. To create the folded book art, each page is marked by hand with measurements, cut with scissors, and folded.  Some of the books are simple and take only a couple of hours to complete.  The more complex designs take over 20 hours.  https://linktr.ee/juliannemahler
